The United States committed a new crime against civilians this evening in Hodeidah province, western Yemen, as part of an escalating series of attacks targeting residential areas and vital infrastructure.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Health in the Sana’a government, the U.S. airstrike hit the Amin Maqbil residential neighborhood in Al-Hawak district of Hodeidah city, resulting in four martyrs and 13 injured, including women and children among the passersby. The ministry noted that the toll is preliminary and could rise.
The bombing caused extensive damage to citizens’ homes as well as several cars and motorcycles, worsening the suffering of the population amid already dire humanitarian conditions.
In Amran province, a U.S. airstrike targeted the telecommunications network in the Shawabah area of Dhibin district, completely destroying it and cutting off communication services for thousands of residents.
These attacks come amid growing public and international outrage at U.S. actions, which observers have described as “political and military thuggery” with no legal basis, and a blatant challenge to repeated international calls to end the war and pursue peaceful solutions—chief among them, stopping the aggression on the Gaza Strip.
