The Houthis Frustrate Israel

NYN | News

Israeli media has revealed growing frustration among Israelis following the failure of airstrikes against the Houthis (Ansar Allah) in Yemen.

In a report, the Hebrew newspaper The Jerusalem Post stated that hopes were pinned on last Friday’s more aggressive joint strikes by the United States and Israel to deter the Houthis from targeting Israel.

However, the renewed attacks by the Houthis (Ansar Allah) from Yemen have shattered those expectations, proving the opposite of what was hoped.

The newspaper highlighted that the main challenge for Israel and the West lies in the fact that, despite their superior firepower, the Houthis (Ansar Allah) have shown no signs of retreat or fear of military pressure. On the contrary, they have demonstrated a readiness to withstand counterstrikes, reflecting their determination to continue their military strategy. This exacerbates the challenges Israel faces in dealing with this persistent threat.

Notably, forces from Sana’a have been carrying out military strikes deep within Israeli territory for over a year, imposing a blockade by preventing the passage of its commercial ships through the Red Sea.

The Houthis have also set conditions for halting their attacks, including ending the war on Gaza, lifting the blockade, and ensuring the unrestricted entry of medicine and food.
