Protests Erupt in the Streets After U.S. Forces Kidnap 4 Yemenis!

NYN | News

A human rights and diplomatic crisis exploded in the city of Dhobab, located in the Bab al-Mandab district in Taiz governorate, after dozens of angry protesters took to the main street. They blocked the coastal road linking the cities of Al-Mokha and Aden, setting tires on fire in a bold protest against the continued detention of four individuals from the district by U.S. forces. These detainees have been held for seven months without trial or any disclosure of charges, according to local sources.

The protesters confirmed that the detainees were taken to the U.S. military base in Djibouti under vague allegations, accusing the leadership of the Coast Guard affiliated with Tariq Saleh of complicity and abandonment in pursuing their case. They threatened to escalate the situation further if their demands for the immediate release of their loved ones and the disclosure of their fate were ignored.

The crisis highlights direct U.S. intervention in Yemeni affairs, particularly with the continued use of the military base in Djibouti as a floating prison for Yemenis without accountability, amid official silence from the internationally recognized government.

These protests are a clear sign of rising public anger against U.S. policies in the Red Sea, which are managed under security pretexts that contradict international law.

Areas under the control of UAE-aligned forces – including forces loyal to Tariq Saleh – have faced increasing criticism for cooperating with foreign agendas at the expense of Yemeni rights. Meanwhile, Washington continues to use “counterterrorism” as a cover for repeated violations, placing Yemen in a new test as it faces the expansion of foreign military influence.
