For the First Time… Russia Reveals How the Houthis Build Their Hidden Power

NYN | News

International powers continue to search for sources of armament for the Houthi group, amidst reports revealing their advanced missile capabilities and local weapons production.
A Russian magazine specializing in military affairs has revealed that the Houthis (Ansar Allah) in Yemen possess a massive and advanced missile arsenal, including ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as anti-ship systems, reflecting their transformation into an organized military force with the capabilities of a regular army, rather than just an armed group.
According to a report by the Russian magazine “TOP WAR,” the Houthis have become a prominent military force since the middle of the last decade, succeeding in confronting the international coalition and local forces, expanding their operations to include repeated missile attacks on Israeli and American ships in the Red Sea and areas near Yemen, particularly since the Gaza war in the fall of 2023.
The report clarified that the Houthi arsenal (Ansar Allah) includes long-range missile systems capable of targeting both land and ships, such as the Qaher-1 missile, which was developed in 2015 with a range of up to 250 km, and the Burkan missiles that appeared in 2016 with a range of 700 to 800 km. The report also speculated that the Houthis are working on producing newer and more advanced missile types.
The report pointed out that the Houthi group (Ansar Allah) does not rely solely on external sources for its armament but also manufactures and develops its weapons inside Yemen.
It confirmed that factories and companies under the control of the Houthis are repairing and producing weapons and ammunition, despite the imposed restrictions and sanctions.
The report indicated that the Houthis (Ansar Allah) have surpassed the concept of traditional armed groups and have established a regular military force with multiple specializations, including missile units capable of carrying out precise offensive operations both inside and outside Yemen. They possess the planning and execution capabilities to strike distant targets deep within the territories of their adversaries.
The report reiterated that Israel, the United States, and other countries are making strenuous efforts to identify and destroy the Houthi military infrastructure but are facing significant difficulties in uncovering the scale of their arsenal and manufacturing sites.
It pointed out that Washington’s designation of the Houthis (Ansar Allah) as a foreign terrorist organization reflects the growing international concern about their capabilities.
The report concluded by emphasizing that the Houthis have repeatedly proven their ability to target and destroy commercial and military ships, including those of the United States, making them a genuine and influential military force in the regional power dynamics.
