U.S. Airstrikes Jolt Sanaa’s Children Awake with High-Explosive Bombs

NYN | News

In the early hours of today, U.S. warplanes renewed their airstrikes on the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, targeting various areas of the city amid intense aerial activity that continues at the time of reporting.

Local sources reported that the strikes hit northwestern Sanaa, as well as areas to the west of the capital and toward Nuqom in the east, using high-explosive concussion bombs. The blasts caused widespread panic among residents, particularly women and children who were jolted from their sleep in fear due to the force of the explosions.

This escalation comes amid ongoing U.S. attacks across Yemeni provinces, which have resulted in extensive human and material losses.

On Thursday evening, the Ministry of Health in the Sanaa-based government announced that U.S. airstrikes over the past two days on the provinces of Sanaa, Dhamar, and Hudaydah had left 36 people dead or injured, most of them women and children.
