Earthquake South of Sanaa… What Is the Connection to U.S. Airstrikes?

NYN | News

A mild earthquake struck Sanaa Governorate on Tuesday evening, amid an increase in seismic activity witnessed in several Yemeni provinces over recent months.
The Center for Seismology and Volcanology Monitoring and Studies reported that monitoring stations recorded an earthquake measuring 2.3 on the Richter scale at 6:25 p.m. in the Jaraf and Allan areas of Bani Al-Harith District, located south of the capital’s administrative area.
The center explained that this quake is part of a series of aftershocks Yemen has experienced lately, with several provinces reporting varying seismic activity, raising public concerns about the potential for a devastating earthquake.
In the same context, geological experts warned of the possibility of a major earthquake in the region that could affect several East African countries and parts of the Arabian Peninsula, including Yemen.
Experts linked these warnings to geological pressures resulting from hydrological changes in the Nile Basin, particularly those associated with the Ethiopian Grand Renaissance Dam, noting that such pressures could trigger unprecedented seismic activity.
