Trump Accuses the Houthis of Penetrating the Pentagon!

NYN | Reports and Analyses

Despite his repeated campaign promises to end wars and withdraw U.S. forces from conflict zones, U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed his true face — not only backtracking on his pledges but also escalating military tensions in the region with a new offensive against Yemen.

In an official message sent Tuesday to the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader, Trump acknowledged that he had instructed the U.S. Department of Defense to deploy additional combat-ready forces to the Middle East.

This move stands in stark contrast to his political narrative, in which he often portrayed himself as a “president of peace,” yet it came as no surprise to those familiar with his history of manipulating facts and generating crises.

In his message, Trump confirmed that these forces have already been deployed to several countries in the region. He also announced a wide-ranging airstrike campaign targeting areas under the control of the Houthis (Ansar Allah) in Yemen, justifying it by citing what he described as a threat posed by the Houthis to U.S. interests and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.

However, his controversial statement during a press conference prior to sending the letter to Congress revealed deeper anxieties. When asked about his confidence in his Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, Trump sharply responded, “Ask the Houthis.” A short but loaded phrase that hinted at multiple interpretations: either a cryptic suggestion that the Houthis had somehow infiltrated U.S. security and defense institutions, or that replacing his defense secretary would serve Sana’a’s interests. In either case, the implication was clear — Sana’a has become a nightmare that haunts Trump and unsettles his administration.

This military escalation is not just a show of force; it reflects a clear political and security failure, as Washington appears increasingly disoriented in the face of Sana’a’s resilience and the effectiveness of the Houthis’ (Ansar Allah’s) strategy in reshaping the region’s power dynamics — despite blockades and ongoing attacks.

While Trump continues flexing his military muscles, the Houthis (Ansar Allah) are emerging as a major force that can no longer be ignored — neither in the Red Sea nor in the heart of regional alliances.
