A short while ago, Israeli warplanes launched a series of intense airstrikes on Yemen’s western province of Hodeidah, targeting strategic sites including the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and Al-Salif.
According to local sources, the strikes focused on civilian facilities within the ports, as well as the main power station in Ras Kathib and the Galaxy ship, using high-explosive bombs. The attack caused significant material damage to infrastructure, though no confirmed reports of casualties have been released so far.
This assault comes amid what has been described as Israel’s “military thuggery,” in blatant disregard for international humanitarian law. The escalation has raised concerns over a potential slide into a wider regional war.
The latest escalation is viewed within the broader context of ongoing regional tensions stemming from the Israeli war on Gaza and Yemen’s expanding support front for the Palestinian resistance — developments that may signal a widening conflict in the Red Sea.
