U.S. Embarrasses Qatar… Doha Responds Forcefully

NYN | News

The United States embarrassed the Qatari government after it was revealed that the American administration had informed Qatari officials in advance about the Israeli strike on a Hamas delegation in the Qatari capital, Doha.

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt stated in an official press release:

“This morning, the Trump administration was informed by the U.S. military that Israel was attacking Hamas, which, unfortunately, was located in an area of Doha, the capital of Qatar.”

“A unilateral strike inside Qatar—a sovereign nation and close ally of the United States—does not advance the goals of either Israel or the U.S. However, eliminating Hamas, which has exploited the suffering of Gaza’s population, remains a worthy objective.”

“President Trump immediately directed his special envoy to notify the Qatari authorities of the imminent attack, and that notification was delivered.”

“President Trump views Qatar as a strong ally and friend of the United States and deeply regrets the location of this attack.”

“The president also spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu following the attack.”

In response, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied the accuracy of these statements, confirming that the claims about Qatar being informed in advance are completely unfounded.

“We received the American notification at the moment the explosions occurred,” the ministry stated.

On Tuesday evening, the Israeli entity launched an airstrike targeting the headquarters of the Hamas delegation in Doha, resulting in multiple casualties:

  • Badr Saad Mohammed Al-Humaidi – Member of Qatar’s Internal Security Forces

  • Hammam Al-Hayya (Abu Yahya) – Son of Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya, senior Hamas leader

  • Jihad Labad (Abu Bilal) – Director of Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya’s office

  • Abdullah Abdulwahid (Abu Khalil) – Personal escort

  • Mo’men Hassouneh (Abu Omar) – Personal escort

  • Ahmad Al-Mamlouk (Abu Malik) – Personal escort

The attack marks a dangerous escalation by Israel against the leadership of the Palestinian resistance, at a time when the United States is facing sharp criticism over its controversial stance and handling of relations with regional allies.
