Israeli Aggression on Yemen Sparks Outrage Among Palestinians and Media Organizations

NYN | News

Several Palestinian factions and media organizations strongly condemned the recent Israeli aggression on Yemeni territory, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of innocent civilians and targeted government and civilian facilities, including the offices of 26 September and Al-Yemen newspapers.

In a statement released this evening, Hamas stressed that this brutal aggression constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and an assault on Yemen’s sovereignty. It described the attack as part of the “escalating Zionist recklessness in the region.”

Hamas expressed full solidarity with the Yemeni people, their armed forces, and Ansar Allah, praising their determination to continue supporting the Gaza Strip amid the ongoing brutal campaign of extermination.

The movement also called on Arab and Islamic nations, as well as the international community, to take immediate action to stop the aggression and protect regional peace and stability.

For its part, Islamic Jihad stated that the Israeli attack on civilian facilities in Yemen reflects the enemy’s inability to gain the upper hand in the battle. The movement condemned the targeting of civilian workers, journalists, and innocent citizens, affirming that Yemeni martyrs are also martyrs of Palestine, and that the brave Yemeni people will continue to strike painful blows to the enemy and make it pay the price for the spilled innocent blood.

In a related context, the Palestinian Journalists Forum issued a statement condemning the Israeli airstrikes on the two Yemeni newspaper offices, stressing that these attacks constitute a war crime targeting press freedom and the right to free expression. The forum described the attacks as part of a systematic Israeli policy aimed at silencing voices and concealing the truth from Arab and international public opinion.

The forum emphasized that targeting media institutions requires urgent action by the international community, human rights organizations, and journalist unions to hold the occupation accountable and to stop its repeated violations.

It called on the Arab Journalists Union and all Arab and international media organizations to take practical steps to protect Yemeni and Palestinian journalists. The forum expressed full solidarity with the families of the martyrs and the wounded, asking God Almighty to have mercy on the martyrs and grant a swift recovery to the injured.
