The Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring and Research Center in Dhamar Governorate recorded a series of six separate earthquakes that struck Al-Jarrahi District in the south of Al-Hodeidah Governorate, in addition to one tremor in the vicinity of the capital, Sana’a, between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
The center explained that the first tremor occurred at 9:08 PM on Tuesday, with a magnitude of 2.5 southwest of Al-Jarrahi District. It was followed by a stronger tremor measuring 3.0 at 11:20 PM in the same area.
In the early hours of Wednesday, a third tremor was recorded at 3:35 AM, measuring 2.5 in magnitude, about 16 kilometers southwest of Al-Jarrahi.
The center added that monitoring stations recorded another earthquake at 4:09 AM, with a magnitude of 2.2, approximately 37 kilometers southwest of Sana’a. Two additional tremors later struck Al-Jarrahi District—one at 7:16 AM with a magnitude of 2.3 south of the district, and another at 9:00 AM with a magnitude of 1.8 northeast of the district.
The center confirmed that all the tremors were minor and there were no reports of casualties or material damage. It also noted that monitoring and follow-up operations are ongoing in anticipation of any further seismic activity.
