Sana’a Bids Farewell to the General Who Defied the Storms of America and Israel

NYN | News

On Monday morning, the capital Sana’a held a solemn funeral procession for Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdulkarim Al-Ghamari, Chief of the General Staff of Sana’a’s armed forces, who was martyred while performing his national and religious duty in defense of Yemen and Gaza.

Crowds of mourners stretched into Al-Sabeen Square, where thousands of citizens from various governorates gathered to bid farewell to one of the most prominent military leaders who left a lasting mark in the confrontation against the U.S.-Israeli and Saudi-Emirati coalitions.

The funeral turned into a national event, where participants expressed loyalty to a Yemeni commander who had become a symbol of resilience in the face of American and Israeli aggression.

According to the Sana’a government, the martyr Al-Ghamari was one of the key architects behind the reconstruction of Yemen’s military institution and the development of its defensive and offensive capabilities. He oversaw the modernization of missile systems, drone technology, and air defense, contributing to a new deterrence equation that positioned Yemen as an influential regional power.

During his tenure as Chief of Staff, Al-Ghamari led a comprehensive overhaul of the land, sea, and air combat systems and played a pivotal role in establishing a unified operations room that enabled Sana’a’s forces to conduct strategic operations as part of the “Promised Conquest” campaign in support of the Palestinian resistance.
