Amid the growing scope of intelligence activity in the region, the Italian magazine “Al Faro Sul Mondo” reported that the Israeli Mossad has recently intensified its efforts to recruit Yemenis to gather on-the-ground intelligence inside the country.
According to the magazine, these moves come as part of Israel’s attempts to isolate the Yemeni arena from supporting Gaza, by conducting espionage operations targeting figures opposed to the Houthi movement (Ansar Allah).
The report explained that in recent days, Mossad launched a recruitment campaign via social media under what is known as “Unit 504,” which specializes in covert operations.
It added that these activities reflect Israel’s growing concern over the increasing Yemeni support for the Palestinian resistance, especially in light of the significant development of Sana’a’s military and defense capabilities, which have become a topic of wide regional attention.
The report noted that security agencies in Sana’a continue to monitor suspicious movements and are intensifying their efforts to counter infiltration attempts, urging citizens to report any suspicious activity via the hotline (100) as part of a security campaign aimed at strengthening internal unity and countering espionage networks.
Security sources revealed that the network working for Mossad is being run by Saudi agent Hamid Hussein Al-Majali, who has been active in Yemen since October 7, 2023, in an effort to recruit local operatives for espionage and sabotage missions targeting Yemen’s support for Gaza.
