Serious Accusations: Who Is Behind the ‘Information Leaks’ to the Red Sea Alliance?

NYN | News

The Yemeni political scene is heading toward further escalation following new accusations by local authorities in Dhamar Governorate against the Islah Party, alleging collaboration with the “Prosperity Alliance” — a coalition led by the United States and the United Kingdom in the Red Sea.

The Governor of Dhamar in the Sana’a-based government, Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, stated in a post on the “X” platform that the coalition formed to halt Yemeni operations in support of Gaza had faced a “clear intelligence failure” during its military escalation against Yemen. This, he claimed, prompted some Islah Party leaders to offer their intelligence services to compensate for that shortfall.

Al-Bukhaiti noted that senior party figures had begun recruiting organizational members, adding that this was openly acknowledged through media outlets affiliated with the party.

He cited a video aired by Suhail TV, owned by businessman and Islah leader Hamid Al-Ahmar.

Al-Bukhaiti criticized what he described as the “political contradiction” among some of the party’s leaders, arguing that offering intelligence cooperation with the coalition — and framing it as an opportunity to eliminate their rivals in Sana’a — contradicts their public expressions of sympathy for detained party members accused of espionage.

These statements come amid mounting political tensions, ongoing military confrontations, and their repercussions in the Red Sea, alongside mutual accusations among Yemeni factions regarding their regional and international alignments.
