A Dangerous Warning from Yemen to Washington: What is the Red Line That Cannot Be Crossed?

NYN | News

Sanaa continues to send strongly worded messages to the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump, warning against any new interference in Yemen’s economy.

Mohammad Muftah, Deputy Prime Minister of the Sanaa government, issued a stark warning to the United States, cautioning against adopting economic measures that target the stability and livelihoods of Yemenis. He considered any such move to be an ignition point for confrontation, as he put it.

Muftah emphasized in a statement to the media that Washington would find itself directly facing the will of the Yemeni people if it crosses the red lines, stressing that the response would be decisive and uncompromising.

He also recalled previous U.S. campaigns against his country, noting that the economic and military aggression led by Trump during his presidency did not deter Yemen from its stance, and new threats would not change that.

Muftah concluded by affirming that national unity and steadfastness in the face of conspiracies are the strongest weapons against U.S. intimidation policies, adding that Sanaa today is not like it was in the past; the Yemeni people now understand that unity is the path to victory.

Through the statements of its officials, Sanaa is sending a clear message to the international community that Yemen will not remain an open arena for external pressures, and any attempt to destabilize its economic or political security will be met with a wall of resilience.

This comes at a time when Washington continues its covert war through declared or undeclared sanctions, and it seems that Sanaa is reshaping the balance of power, relying on a long legacy of struggle and internal consensus that could turn challenges into opportunities to assert itself.
