At dawn on Thursday, the city of Aden witnessed a new assassination incident after a senior security figure in the Security Belt Forces was found dead inside his vehicle in the Khormaksar district.
According to local sources, the body of Jamal Yahya bin Saleh, the Armament Director of the Abyan Security Belt, was found inside a Hyundai Elantra near Khalifa School, with a direct gunshot wound.
Initial information indicated that the killing occurred without any clash or resistance. The body was transferred to Al-Jumhouri Hospital after a security team arrived at the scene.
Security forces began inspection procedures, collecting evidence and lifting fingerprints, while simultaneously reviewing surveillance cameras in the vicinity of the incident, amid a noticeable security presence in the area.
Preliminary investigations revealed that another security officer was inside the vehicle at the moment of the crime, with suspicion of his direct involvement in the incident.
According to informed sources, a dispute broke out between the two inside the vehicle before escalating to the use of a weapon and gunfire that led to the death of bin Saleh.
Security authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the circumstances and motives behind the incident, with no official statement issued so far.
