The Public Telecommunications Corporation of Yemen issued a statement today denying reports circulated by some news websites and social media platforms alleging that it had confiscated subscribers’ internet balances for its wired and wireless services, affirming that such claims are completely baseless.
The Corporation clarified that the calculation and deduction of data usage are carried out automatically through a precise and transparent billing system, rejecting allegations of double deductions or the separation of balances between download and upload traffic. It stressed that the aim of such rumors is to cause confusion and harm the Corporation’s reputation.
The Public Telecommunications Corporation reiterated its commitment to providing internet services according to the highest technical standards and at prices that take into account citizens’ living conditions, despite the challenges resulting from the aggression and blockade.
In conclusion, the Corporation called on all users and media outlets to verify information and rely on official sources, and not to be misled by rumors targeting the national telecommunications institution.
