After Fleet Destruction… Yemen Airways Delivers Good News to Travelers

NYN | News

Yemen Airways has announced plans to strengthen its fleet by acquiring a new aircraft at the beginning of next year, as part of an expansion strategy aimed at improving its services and compensating for the shortage of planes.

The announcement came during the airline’s regular board meeting held on Thursday in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to follow up on developments related to the aircraft purchase agreement with Airbus.

The board approved a plan to acquire a fifth aircraft in early 2026, as part of a broader program to modernize and expand the fleet, and to enhance the quality of services provided to passengers.

This move comes after four Yemen Airways planes were completely destroyed in a series of airstrikes carried out by Israeli warplanes on Sana’a International Airport in recent months, which significantly crippled the airline’s ability to operate flights from Yemeni airports to international destinations.
