The leader of the Ansar Allah movement (the Houthis), Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, today accused the United States of responsibility for the latest Israeli escalation in southern Lebanon.
In a condolence message addressed to Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Naim Qassem, Al-Houthi stated that the continued Israeli attacks reveal the “deep-rooted aggressive doctrine” of the Israeli occupation, warning that these actions occur with American support and amid the retreat of positions held by several governments.
The message followed the killing of Hezbollah Chief of Staff Haitham Al-Tabtabai in an airstrike that targeted Beirut’s southern suburb on Sunday. Al-Houthi asserted that the occupation has continued its daily assaults on Lebanon since the ceasefire agreement, indicating that there are no commitments from Tel Aviv that can be relied upon.
Al-Houthi also expressed confidence in Hezbollah’s ability to remain steadfast and overcome current challenges, reiterating his “full solidarity” with the group in confronting Israeli attacks.
He concluded his message by affirming that the realistic option lies in deliberate and responsible action against the Israeli occupation and its plans—a position that reflects Sana’a’s support for the resistance against the Israeli project in the region.
