The governorate of Al-Mahra is witnessing growing concern after local circles circulated information about external moves feared to target Hadramout and its oil wealth.
In this context, the Peaceful Sit-in Committee in the governorate discussed the latest developments during a meeting chaired by the head of the committee’s Security Department, Muslim Rafee’t.
During the meeting, Rafee’t urged the people of Al-Mahra to maintain unity and reject internal disputes, stressing that societal cohesion represents the first line of defense against any external threats or agendas. He emphasized the importance of preserving the stability that distinguishes the governorate.
The committee explained in its statement that the rapid developments in Hadramout fall within the framework of an “external plot” targeting its resources and attempting to impose a new reality on the ground, declaring the support of Al-Mahra’s residents for the stance of the Hadramout tribes in confronting these challenges.
Rafee’t also called for drawing lessons from the anniversary of Independence Day on November 30, noting that the current phase requires readiness for any attempts aimed at undermining national sovereignty.
The meeting concluded by underscoring the importance of commemorating Evacuation Day and reminding younger generations of the sacrifices made by the independence fighters who ended British presence in southern Yemen, pointing out that this occasion remains a source of inspiration for confronting what the committee described as “modern conspiracies.”
