American Central Command: Launch of 3 drones and a ballistic missile towards the Gulf of Aden.

NYN |News

The American Central Command announced today, Wednesday, that forces aligned with the Sanaa government have launched 3 drones and a ballistic missile towards American warships in the Gulf of Aden over the past two days.

The Central Command stated in a statement released via “X” platform this morning that “the Houthis launched three drones towards the Gulf of Aden from areas under their control in Yemen.”

The statement added that a coalition ship successfully intercepted one of the drones, while the US Central Command forces intercepted the second one, and the third one crashed into the Gulf of Aden, without any reported injuries or damages by the American ships, the coalition, or commercial ships.

The statement mentioned that “later, around 5:02 am (Sanaa time) yesterday, the Houthis launched an anti-ship ballistic missile over the Gulf of Aden, also without any reported injuries or damages.”

There has been no comment from the Sanaa government forces regarding the matter, as they usually issue a statement after carrying out any operation targeting what they describe as enemy naval forces.

Since late last year, forces aligned with the Sanaa government have begun targeting Israeli and affiliated ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, before extending their operations to parts of the Indian Ocean.

The Sanaa forces state that their operations against Israel will continue until Israel stops what they call the genocide in Gaza and lifts the blockade.

In response, the US and Britain have launched airstrikes on Yemen, leading the Sanaa government forces to announce that their operations will include targeting American and British commercial and military ships in response to what they termed the “American-British aggression.”
