American Concerns Over Prolonged Confrontations with Sana’a Government Forces in the Red Sea

NYN | News

The American newspaper “Philadelphia Inquirer” reported that achieving a ceasefire in Gaza—despite dwindling hopes—would end the Red Sea crisis involving confrontations between the US Navy and Sana’a government forces.

The newspaper pointed out in its report on Tuesday that Pentagon officials are worried about the difficult situation faced by US Navy personnel who are confronting missiles and drones from the Sana’a government forces.

It explained that the concern among Pentagon officials stems from the prolonged presence of US Navy forces in the Red Sea, which they see as a reason for the loss of necessary focus among their personnel to respond to attacks by what they called the “Houthis,” especially since they often need just a few seconds to respond to a detected drone or missile.

The report stated, “Their continuous state of alert, fatigue, and exposure to shocks could lead to psychological complications.”

The American newspaper’s report stated, “The use of unmanned boats by the Houthis is seen as an escalation by Pentagon officials.”
