American Media: Shooting Down MQ-9 Reaper Drones in Yemen May Force the Pentagon to Reassess Its Development Plans

NYN | News:

American media commented on the success of the weapons of the government forces in Sanaa in shooting down one of the most advanced American aircraft in the world, indicating that the operation may prompt the U.S. defense to reconsider its development plans.

The “Warrior Maven” website, specializing in U.S. Army news, said: “The downing of MQ-9 Reaper aircraft in Yemen has raised questions about its weakness, despite being an impressive and advanced aircraft with no risk of being shot down.”

Adding that: “The downing of MQ-9 Reaper aircraft in Yemen may prompt the Pentagon to reassess the aircraft’s development plans, which have proven invaluable in many conflicts in several countries.”

The spokesperson for the Sanaa government forces, Yahya Saree, announced on April 27, through a recorded statement, that: “The air defenses shot down an American MQ9 aircraft while it was carrying out hostile missions in the skies of Saada province,” according to the statement.

The following day, Sanaa forces presented footage they claimed was of the targeting and downing of the aircraft and its wreckage.
