NYN | News

In a shocking incident that reflects severe violations of human rights, the body of young Abdul Latif Al-Jamili was found lying in one of the streets of Marib city, after spending months in the prisons of the security forces affiliated with the internationally recognized government.
According to Al-Jamili’s family, he was arrested by the security forces three months ago, and the family was expecting his release after the required guarantees were fulfilled. However, they were shocked to find his body lying in the street, raising serious questions about the fate of detainees in those prisons.
This is not the first incident, as it was preceded by the deaths of poet Rashid Al-Hattam and Majed Al-Amiri under torture in the past weeks, according to local media reports, indicating an escalation of violations within the security detention centers.
The crime sparked widespread outrage on social media, with activists comparing Marib’s prisons to notorious torture detention centers, calling for an international investigation into these crimes and holding those responsible accountable.
