Western media continues to follow the escalating tensions in the Red Sea, as the Houthis, “Ansar Allah,” announce a tightening of the blockade on Israeli shipping and the imposition of strict controls over vessel movements.
In a televised interview, former U.S. Senator Richard Black stated that Yemenis are fierce fighters and were born warriors. He emphasized that what is happening in the Red Sea does not fall under the category of piracy, as the Yemenis are not looting the contents of ships, but rather aiming to break the blockade on the Gaza Strip.
Black added that Yemen cannot be invaded by land, citing past confrontations where Yemenis successfully resisted forces from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and even the Egyptian army, according to his televised remarks.
Black’s statements come at a time when Yemeni naval operations in the Red Sea are intensifying. The Sanaa-based government has reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the ban on Israeli maritime navigation at any cost, stressing that this measure will remain in place until the genocide in Gaza stops and the siege on Palestinian civilians is lifted.
