Sana’a forces have thwarted a major offensive planned by U.S. forces against Yemen, forcing them to retreat after a direct engagement that lasted for hours.
Early Monday morning, the Yemeni Armed Forces affiliated with the Sana’a government announced the successful repulsion of a dangerous hostile attack that U.S. warplanes were preparing to launch against Yemen. They confirmed that the American fighter jets were forced to withdraw and return to their bases after a direct confrontation.
In an official statement, Sana’a forces reported that they successfully countered the U.S. attack by targeting the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman and several accompanying warships in the northern Red Sea. The operation, which lasted several hours, involved ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones, in a coordinated assault.
The statement emphasized that this high-level operation—executed for the second time within 24 hours—was a direct response to continued U.S. aggression against Yemen. It was also described as part of the “path of Islam in resisting tyranny and arrogance,” coinciding with the anniversary of the Battle of Badr.
Sana’a forces vowed to match American escalation with counter-escalation, warning that they would continue executing additional military options announced by Houthi (Ansar Allah) leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi if the aggression persisted.
The statement also reaffirmed the ongoing ban on Israeli ships passing through the operational zone until the blockade on Gaza is lifted. Additionally, it praised the resilience of the Yemeni people and the support of free nations rejecting U.S. aggression against Yemen and Palestine.
The statement concluded by reaffirming Yemen’s ongoing struggle against U.S. and Israeli domination in the region, declaring that victory will ultimately belong to Yemen and all the free peoples of the world.
