British Intelligence Officer: Iran Has Technologically and Militarily Dismantled “Trump’s Deception”… and Yemen Imposes a New Deterrence Equation
Alastair Crooke reveals the failure of the U.S.–Israeli strategy and asserts: the Axis of Resistance has emerged stronger and more cohesive

Former British intelligence officer with MI6, Alastair Crooke, has revealed a broad failure of the U.S.–Israeli strategy in confronting Iran throughout 2025 and early 2026, asserting that Tehran succeeded in breaking Western military and technological dominance and in imposing new deterrence equations across the region.
The Hebrew-language site Noor News cited Crooke’s analysis, in which he noted that what took place was not merely a limited military escalation, but a comprehensive intelligence and technological confrontation that ended in favor of Iran and the Axis of Resistance.
Disabling “Starlink” Shocks Washington and Tel Aviv
Crooke explained that Iran managed to disrupt advanced technological systems, most notably the Starlink network, in a move he described as a major shock to both the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Israel’s Mossad, which had banked on penetrating Iran internally through technological and operational means.
He stressed that this development exposed the limits of Western superiority in electronic warfare and demonstrated that Iran possesses unexpected countermeasures.
Behind the Scenes of “Trump’s Deception” and the Failure of Covert Operations
The former intelligence official disclosed what he described as a “strategic deception” carried out by U.S. President Donald Trump, when he announced the launch of negotiations with Tehran last June, while small covert units equipped with drones and anti-armor missiles were attempting to infiltrate and target Iran’s early-warning systems.
He noted that this phase was followed by efforts to stir internal unrest through rebel groups trained in Albania and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, including elements of the Mujahedin-e Khalq organization. However, Iranian security services fully thwarted these plots.
Yemen Imposes a New Reality in the Red Sea
On the regional level, Crooke argued that Yemen has become a decisive factor in the conflict equation after imposing control over the Red Sea, placing the occupation entity in a “multi-front dilemma” that it lacks the capacity to sustain.
He affirmed that this development strengthened coordination within the Axis of Resistance and constrained the military and maritime freedom of movement of Western powers in the region.
October Attack: Deterrence Without All-Out War
Crooke pointed out that Iran’s missile attack last October represented a new model of effective deterrence, as Tehran succeeded in delivering a firm message without being drawn into a comprehensive war—making it, in his words, “always one step ahead of Western planners.”
Strategic Shift in the Balance of Power
The former British intelligence officer concluded that what was promoted as a “popular awakening” inside Iran was in fact intelligence-directed operations that failed to achieve their objectives, instead contributing to greater cohesion within the Iranian state and strengthening the Axis of Resistance.
He emphasized that the inability of the Zionist entity’s air defenses, and the exposure of their limitations, ultimately pushed it to seek a ceasefire—clear evidence, he said, of a fundamental shift in the region’s strategic balance of power.
