The British Maritime Trade Operations said today, Friday, that it received a report of an attempted ship hijacking 195 nautical miles east of the Yemeni city of Aden.
The organization quoted the ship’s captain as saying: “A small boat approached carrying 5 or 6 armed individuals, along with ladders to board the ship.”
The organization mentioned that: “The armed men in the boat first fired at the ship, but a security team on board also returned fire, forcing the boat to retreat,” indicating that “the ship and its crew are safe, and it is heading to the next port on its route.”
