The highlands and the northern and central governorates of Yemen are witnessing a noticeable drop in temperatures over the next 24 hours, amid indications of an early winter in several areas.
According to the bulletin issued by the National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning, cold weather is expected to prevail in the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, northern Ibb, and Al-Bayda, where minimum temperatures are likely to range between 3 and 8°C.
The highlands of Shabwa, Abyan, Lahj, Al-Dhalea, and Taiz are also expected to experience relatively cold conditions, with minimum temperatures ranging between 8 and 12°C.
The Center urged the elderly, children, and outdoor workers during nighttime and early morning hours to take precautions and wear warm clothing to avoid the effects of the cold.
It also warned farmers in mountainous areas to take necessary measures to protect their crops and advised visitors from warmer regions to prepare for the cold weather conditions.
