U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks about the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza have opened diplomatic doors for the Sana’a government, which has received numerous communications from Arab governments, most of which were confidential, expressing their rejection of the American plans.
Brigadier General Abdullah bin Amer, Deputy Director of the Moral Guidance Department at the Ministry of Defense under the Sana’a government, revealed these surprising communications.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Amer wrote: “Trump’s madness has turned Sana’a into a diplomatic hub… Unprecedented Arab communications condemn the plan and are rearranging alliances,” indicating that Trump’s blunt statements have given momentum to Arab efforts seeking to establish a new strategic partnership with Sana’a to confront destructive American policies.
Trump’s remarks, which suggested the occupation of Gaza and the displacement of its residents, came as an international shock, sparking waves of anger in Yemen, the Arab world, and the Muslim community, amid warnings about its potential consequences for regional security.
Political analysts believe that the Arab communications with Sana’a are part of some Arab governments reevaluating their positions on the Saudi-Emirati alliance’s policies, especially after the failure of the war to achieve its objectives.
