The leader of the Houthi movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, made sharp statements in which he criticized the U.S. policy in the region and directed his criticism directly at U.S. President Donald Trump, calling him a “stupid fool.” This was in response to what he described as the “insane American plan” to expel the people of Gaza and buy their land.
This came during a speech he delivered today, in which he emphasized the need for a unified Arab stance to confront “American arrogance.”
Al-Houthi confirmed that the American madness, exemplified by the plan to expel Palestinians, has placed Arab countries in a difficult position. He added that the current stage requires solid Arab and Islamic unity to thwart American policies that seek to humiliate peoples and sell out causes in an auction.
He described the Arab stance during the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” battle as fluctuating between complicity and negligence, calling for “serious and strong steadfastness” in rejecting any project targeting the Palestinian people.
Al-Houthi harshly criticized Trump, asking: “Do you, you stupid fool, think that the honorable people of Gaza, after unmatched endurance and great sacrifices, will sell you a homeland whose homes were destroyed on their heads?”
In response to U.S. statements regarding a potential deal for the Gaza Strip, al-Houthi mocked the U.S. president, saying: “From whom will you buy Gaza, you ignorant? Do you think the world is a market for your humiliating deals?”
Al-Houthi stressed that Arab unity would prevent any colonial project and warned against continuing the “blind allegiance to Washington,” considering that breaking free from American subordination is a historic opportunity for Arab countries to regain their dignity. He added: “It’s time to loudly say ‘No’ to shatter plans of displacement and domination.”
These statements come amid growing discussions about Israeli plans – supported by the U.S. – for the mass displacement of Gaza’s population to Arab countries.
It is worth noting that the Houthis have supported Palestinian resistance through specialized military operations targeting deep Israeli territories, and they have imposed a blockade on Israeli shipping in the Red Sea, which has cost the Israeli economy billions of dollars.
