Sana’a forces announced on Monday that they had successfully intercepted Israeli airstrikes attempting to target several Yemeni cities, affirming that they launched a joint military response against multiple locations within the occupied Palestinian territories.
In an official statement, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said:
“By the grace of God, our air defenses were able to repel the Zionist aggression against our country and thwart its plan by forcing the participating combat formations to leave the airspace without carrying out any strikes. This was achieved using several domestically manufactured surface-to-air missiles.”
The statement added that Sana’a forces responded to this “aggression” by carrying out a joint, high-level military operation involving the missile force and the drone air force. The operation used 11 missiles and drones, targeting strategic sites inside Israel. Among them, a hypersonic missile named “Palestine 2” struck Ben Gurion (Lod), another hypersonic missile hit the Ashdod Port, and a third hypersonic missile struck the Ashkelon power station. In addition, eight drones targeted the Port of Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat).
The statement confirmed that “the missiles and drones accurately reached their targets and that interception systems failed to stop them.”
The statement concluded by reaffirming the continuation of military operations in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza until the aggression stops and the siege is lifted.
