From Meetings to Secret Files: What Did Sana’a Tell the United Nations?

NYN | News

The head of Sana’a’s negotiating delegation, Mohammed Abdul Salam, held a meeting today with the UN Special Envoy to Yemen to discuss the peace process based on the roadmap submitted to the United Nations and agreed upon with the Saudi side under the sponsorship of the Sultanate of Oman.

Abdul Salam emphasized the importance of resuming efforts to implement the provisions of the roadmap, particularly the humanitarian commitments, stressing that there is no justification for continued procrastination.

He also addressed the position of the Sana’a government regarding detainees working with international organizations, clarifying that there is no interest in detaining anyone without legal grounds. He presented information from security authorities concerning what he described as the “subversive role” of some of the detainees, alleging that they had engaged in espionage activities under the guise of humanitarian work. He affirmed that the relevant agencies are ready to provide the necessary evidence and documentation.

Abdul Salam further reaffirmed the Sana’a government’s commitment to finding fair solutions and maintaining coordination with international organizations to enable them to continue their work within their designated mandates, while ensuring that no future violations occur that could threaten Yemen’s security and stability.
