Frozen Nightmare Nights Begin in These Yemeni Provinces

NYN | News

Weather forecasts indicate the arrival of a severe cold wave that will affect most highlands and inland regions of Yemen in the coming days, with the possibility of frost forming in some exposed areas.

Yemeni astronomer Adnan Al-Shawafi said the country is heading into a level-two cold wave of “moderate intensity,” explaining that its peak will begin tonight and continue until Sunday, 26 November 2025, bringing cold to very cold conditions across the highlands, basins, and internal plateaus.

The National Meteorological Center stated that temperatures will drop significantly in the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Al-Bayda, as well as the highlands of Al-Dhalea, Lahj, Abyan, Ibb, western Al-Jawf, and southern Marib, with expectations of frost forming in limited areas.

The center also noted that the weather will be cold in the highlands of Hadramawt, Shabwa, Taiz, Raymah, and Al-Mahwit, urging citizens — especially the elderly, patients, children, and those working at night or in early morning hours — to take necessary precautions.

The center warned farmers of the risks of sudden freezing on their crops, stressing the importance of taking appropriate measures to reduce the impact of the cold wave on agricultural production.
