In the early hours of Friday, Israeli occupation forces launched a wide-scale aerial assault on the Islamic Republic of Iran. The attack targeted the capital, Tehran, along with several major cities including Ahvaz, Isfahan, Natanz, Qom, and Tabriz, in an unprecedented and dangerous escalation aimed at crippling Iran’s defensive and scientific infrastructure.
The Israeli aggression, which unfolded in four consecutive waves, struck densely populated residential buildings, nuclear facilities, and military bases. The assault resulted in the deaths of dozens of civilians, including women and children, as well as the martyrdom of several senior commanders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and a number of elite nuclear scientists.
Iran’s Tasnim News Agency confirmed the martyrdom of General Hossein Salami, the former commander-in-chief of the IRGC, in what it described as a cowardly attack.
The agency also reported the assassination of two prominent nuclear scientists, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi and Dr. Fereydoun Abbasi, both of whom played pivotal roles in Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
In a significant development on the ground, Mehr News Agency reported the martyrdom of General Gholam Ali Rashid, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters and one of Iran’s top military strategists, following a strike that targeted the command center south of Tehran.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Iran’s Armed Forces General Staff declared, “The response is coming, and it will be earth-shattering,” adding, “There is no need for concern — Israel and the United States will pay a heavy price. Civilian for civilian, fire for fire.”
In strong remarks to IRNA (Islamic Republic News Agency), a well-informed Iranian source stated that Tehran has already begun preparing a decisive response plan to the aggression, indicating that the coming strike will redraw the rules of engagement in the region.
On the other side, the U.S. administration attempted to distance itself from the escalation. However, statements by Israeli officials confirmed that the attacks were carried out in direct coordination with Washington. An Israeli security source revealed that Mossad led a series of assassinations inside Iran in tandem with the Air Force raids.
This escalation comes as the Israeli Prime Minister declared his regime’s readiness to continue the assault in the coming days, defying international calls for restraint and asserting that “Israel is prepared for Iran’s response” — a belligerent stance reflecting the recklessness of the Zionist military establishment.
Observers believe the region has entered a new phase of confrontation and that an all-out war is imminent, potentially leading to fundamental shifts in the regional balance of power.
