Gaza Bids Farewell to Its Final Witness… The Voice of Truth Silenced by Bullets

NYN | News

Today, Gaza mourned the loss of one of its most prominent media figures, Palestinian journalist Saleh Al-Ja’afrawi, who was martyred after surviving two years of war without ever missing a day on the frontlines. He relentlessly conveyed his people’s suffering and brought the lens of truth to the world.

Al-Ja’afrawi, known for his courage and honesty, was abducted this afternoon in the Al-Sabra neighborhood in the northern part of the Strip. His martyrdom was confirmed later in the evening, after he was shot dead by armed men known to be collaborators with the Israeli occupation.

Local sources reported that the journalist was tortured before being coldly executed with seven bullets fired at point-blank range — a crime that has shaken the Palestinian and Arab conscience.

Just hours before his assassination, Al-Ja’afrawi had posted a video speaking about Gaza’s resilience, asserting that the occupation would need a hundred years to break the will of its people. He was documenting scenes of rubble being cleared and roads reopened following the announcement of a ceasefire.

At Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, the farewell was heart-wrenching. The martyr’s body was carried by grieving hands, and hearts still unable to grasp that the voice that always delivered the truth had now been silenced forever.

Saleh was not just a journalist — he was a witness to the wound, a transmitter of pain, and a fighter with words against injustice.

His death has sparked a wave of sorrow and outrage, even as Israeli platforms celebrated his assassination — a reflection of the powerful role he played in exposing Israeli crimes against civilians in Gaza.

Martyr Saleh Al-Ja’afrawi will remain a symbol of resistance media, a lasting voice in the memory of Palestine — a memory that never forgets those who carried a camera in one hand and a belief in freedom in the other.
