Popular protests continued in Hadramaut province over the past hours, with the cities of Mukalla and Tarim witnessing angry demonstrations condemning the worsening living conditions and the severe deterioration of public services—most notably the prolonged and repeated power outages.
Protesters chanted slogans demanding the dismissal of Governor Mabkhout bin Madi and the removal of what they described as the “corrupt government,” holding both local authorities and the central government responsible for the deepening economic and service crisis.
Eyewitnesses reported that security forces fired warning shots into the air in an attempt to disperse the demonstrators, though no injuries were reported.
These demonstrations are part of a growing wave of public anger sweeping across several cities in Hadramaut. Protesters are escalating their demands daily amid the ongoing collapse of basic services and the absence of effective governmental solutions.
