In the past few hours, the governorates of Lahj and Abyan have witnessed two mysterious deaths under unclear circumstances, sparking concern among local residents and prompting security authorities to launch urgent investigations to uncover the truth behind the incidents.
In Lahj Governorate, security forces received a report from a local resident about the discovery of an unidentified man’s body inside a farm in one of the areas of Al-Malah District.
According to initial information, the body was found hanging with a white towel tied to a “Samra” tree, and the victim was dressed entirely in black clothing.
A security team, led by the deputy director of the district’s security department, moved to the scene and transferred the body to Ibn Khaldun Hospital to complete legal procedures, including a forensic examination to determine the cause of death and whether the case was a suicide or a criminal act.
Meanwhile, in Al-Dhalea Governorate, local sources reported the death of another man under similar circumstances, as he was found hanging inside his home in one of the neighborhoods of Qa’atabah City.
The sources indicated that the victim had been suffering from psychological disorders, suggesting the possibility of suicide—pending the results of the official investigation, which will determine the exact nature of the death.
These two incidents come amid mounting psychological and economic pressures faced by citizens, underscoring the urgent need to strengthen efforts in psychological and social support, and to intensify public awareness about the importance of mental health and ways to prevent emotional breakdowns that could lead to such tragedies.
