Happening Now: Intense Aerial Assault on Hodeidah

NYN | News

U.S. warplanes continue their attacks on Yemeni territory, as the city of Hodeidah in western Yemen is currently witnessing heavy airstrikes that have caused repeated tremors and explosions, with ongoing aircraft activity over the city and its outskirts.

Local sources reported several powerful explosions shaking different neighborhoods of the coastal city due to the ongoing U.S. strikes, which have not ceased as of now.

They indicated that the bombing also targeted areas surrounding the city, though the extent of the damage remains unclear.

In the same context, other Yemeni provinces have witnessed a significant escalation in airstrikes in recent hours, with U.S. aircraft targeting the Al-Asha area in Amran province, in addition to a series of air raids on various areas in Sana’a and Marib.

This military escalation comes amid growing condemnation, as observers describe the continued U.S. aggression as a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law, especially given that these attacks are perceived as part of Washington’s support for protecting the Israeli entity, which is accused of committing acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip.

These developments raise questions about the intentions of the U.S. administration, as military operations persist and popular and international outrage over the consequences of this repeated aggression continues to grow.
