NYN | News

The Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorologypredicted on Tuesday scattered rainfall over mountainous highlands and coastal areas in several Yemeni governorates during the coming hours.

In its daily bulletin, the center explained that the mountainous highlands will experience clear to partly cloudy skiesduring the day, with possible scattered showers in parts of Raymah, Al-Mahwit, and Hajjah during the afternoon and evening hours. Meanwhile, cold to very cold conditions are expected at night and early morning in the governorates of Al-Bayda, Dhamar, Sana’a, Amran, and Saada, where minimum temperatures will range between 4°C and 10°C.

As for the coastal areas, the forecast indicates clear to partly cloudy skies, with possible rainfall over parts of the Tihama Plain. Strong winds are expected along the southern Red Sea coast and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, reaching speeds of up to 25 knots, which may cause rough seas and high waves.

In the desert regions, the center noted that the weather will be clear and relatively cold at night and early morning, with occasional active winds reaching up to 20 knots, possibly stirring up dust and sand.

The center urged citizens — especially the elderly, children, and farmers in mountainous areas — to take necessary precautions against the cold weather. It also warned fishermen and ship captains of rough sea conditions and high waves along the southern Red Sea coast and Bab al-Mandab Strait.
