Israel’s security and military establishments are experiencing growing concern, amid rare admissions published by the Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz, which confirmed that the ongoing Yemeni attacks have disrupted the calculations of the Israeli entity, and that all attempts at targeting or deterrence have failed to stop them.
According to the newspaper, Israeli officials have acknowledged the failure of efforts aimed at “hurting the Houthis,” affirming that Israel will face difficulty in halting missile launches from Yemen, even with intensified strikes against them.
Israel’s security apparatus warns of a potential escalation if the situation deteriorates in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, or at Al-Aqsa Mosque, noting that the Houthis are a formidable enemy with advanced missile capabilities, according to the paper.
The report attributes the development of the Yemeni attacks to advanced technical expertise accompanying the launch operations, explaining that each missile fired from Yemen is followed by detailed analysis and monitoring to improve subsequent strikes.
The newspaper hints that political understandings with Iran might be the key to halting the Yemeni attacks, suggesting that an agreement in Gaza or a Washington-Tehran rapprochement could contribute to calming the Yemeni front.
According to observers, this rhetoric reflects a belated realization in Tel Aviv that Sana’a has become a significant regional player in the deterrence equation—one that cannot be disregarded in any future confrontation.
