A European newspaper has confirmed that the United States and its allies are pursuing a policy of collective punishment against Yemen due to its opposition to the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
In a report published by the Italian newspaper Il Faro sul Mondo, the paper stated that Washington, by carrying out deadly attacks on Yemen, is punishing its people for supporting the oppressed and rejecting Western hegemony.
The newspaper pointed out that the American aggression against Yemen during the month of Ramadan was intended to send a strong message about U.S. policy toward countries that stand in the way of its interests. Yemen suffered a massacre in mid-Ramadan, resulting in the deaths of 53 civilians, including two women and five children, while more than 100 people were injured.
According to the newspaper, the attack was carried out using American and British warplanes, which launched intensive bombings on Yemeni cities and villages—from Sana’a to Sa’dah, and from Marib to Dhamar. The attacks destroyed many homes and caused devastation in entire residential communities.
Regarding the message the U.S. intended to send, the newspaper confirmed that Washington deliberately used the month of Ramadan—a time of peace and reflection for Muslims—to launch an assault targeting humanitarian values and sacred principles. It emphasized that for the United States, no time or place is sacred if it obstructs its imperial interests.
The report added that the U.S. is deliberately imposing collective punishment on Yemen as part of an effort to weaken any nation that dares to oppose Western hegemony or stand in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
The report also highlighted that the American attacks on Yemen are part of a calculated military campaign designed to punish the Yemeni nation for its strong stance against the genocide being committed by Israel in Gaza.
The newspaper hinted that the United States has no intention of halting these attacks, as statements from American officials have confirmed that the strikes will continue for hours, days, or even weeks—indicating sustained military pressure on Yemen.
Ultimately, this American aggression is clearly part of an attempt to intimidate nations that oppose U.S. imperial policies, while Sana’a continues its defense of human rights and the Palestinian cause, according to the newspaper.
