Maariv: Unprecedented Israeli Concern Over a Scenario of a Yemeni Ground Attack Across the Borders

Tel Aviv Raises Readiness and Conducts Drills Simulating the Infiltration of Yemeni Forces Amid Assessments of Multi-Front Warfare

The Hebrew newspaper Maariv has revealed a state of acute security anxiety within the Israeli occupation entity, stemming from fears that Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement could carry out a direct ground attack across borders toward occupied Palestine—an option Israeli security circles have described as “dangerous and unprecedented.”

Expanded Security Meeting After Washington Visit

According to the newspaper, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a lengthy security meeting that lasted for hours and included senior military and security officials. The meeting was dedicated to discussing preparations for a multi-front confrontation involving Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, and the Gaza Strip. It was the first such meeting since Netanyahu’s return from his visit to the United States.

Parallel Preparations and Independent Target Banks

Maariv quoted military sources as saying that the Israeli army is currently working to build simultaneous operational capabilities for all fronts. Military Intelligence (Aman), the Mossad, and other branches are preparing independent target banks without prioritizing one front over another—an indication of the widening scope and multiplicity of perceived threats.

Yemen at the Forefront of Israeli Concerns

Regarding Yemen, the newspaper noted that Israel’s security establishment is monitoring what it described as a “learning process and accumulation of experience” by Ansar Allah. It stressed that the movement—despite internal challenges and regional tensions—continues to develop its offensive tools against the Israeli occupation entity, ranging from ballistic missiles to scenarios involving ground incursions across borders.

Drills Simulating the Infiltration of Yemeni Forces

Maariv disclosed that the Israeli army recently conducted a large-scale military exercise within the area of the 80th Division under the Southern Command. The drills included scenarios simulating the infiltration of hostile forces, including Yemeni units, the seizure of military positions, incursions into tourist areas, and the taking of captives and the carrying out of hostile operations.

Assessments of the Iranian Situation

The security meeting also addressed developments in Iran, according to the newspaper. Israeli intelligence assessments reportedly presented a different reading from previous ones, viewing the ongoing protests as having a broad societal character—prompting the occupation entity to act with caution while maintaining full readiness for various scenarios.

Heightened Readiness Awaiting Political Decision

The newspaper concluded, quoting a military source, that the Israeli army is raising its level of readiness on all fronts, awaiting a political decision that will determine the direction and timing of any potential military move, amid what it described as growing threats emanating from the “third circle,” with Yemen at the forefront.
