Military Surprises from Yemen… Are We Witnessing a Shift in the Balance of Power?

NYN | News

Yemen’s military technologies continue to astonish international experts, proving their ability to bypass the latest air defense systems and create a strategic impact despite intense military pressure.

Military expert Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi confirmed that the continued launch of Yemeni missiles toward the Israeli occupation entity demonstrates the failure of U.S. airstrikes to weaken Sana’a’s military capabilities. He also pointed out contradictions in Israeli statements regarding the interception of these missiles.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Al-Duwairi explained that the Israeli army’s claim of intercepting a missile launched on Monday before it entered Israeli airspace contradicts reports of missile debris falling in areas west of Jerusalem and south of occupied Jaffa. This suggests that the missile bypassed air defenses and was only dealt with later.

He added that the debris reaching these areas supports the hypothesis that Yemen possesses hypersonic missiles—an advanced technology owned by only a few countries. Moreover, the activation of sirens in Jerusalem and Greater Tel Aviv, while remaining silent in other occupied territories, indicates that Israeli radar systems only detected the missile after it had already arrived.

The military expert emphasized that while these missiles may not shift the overall strategic balance of power, they impose a constant state of alert within the Israeli entity and disrupt the daily lives of settlers. He stressed that the intense U.S. airstrikes have failed to prevent Yemen from continuing its attacks.

He also noted that Yemen’s launch of an eighth missile in just a few days is evidence of the failure of U.S. airstrikes and the weakness of Israel’s air defense systems, giving Yemen a qualitative advantage in this escalating confrontation.
