The U.S. Department of Commerce has announced the addition of 15 new Chinese companies to its trade blacklist for allegedly facilitating the purchase of American electronic components that were later found in drones used by forces in Sanaa and by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, according to its claims.
In a statement, the department said that ten of these companies were involved in supplying components for armed drones operated by groups linked to Iran, including the Houthis (Ansar Allah).
An additional five companies were added based on information indicating that on October 7, 2023, Israeli defense forces discovered drones operated by Iran-backed groups, including Hamas.
According to the U.S. statement, the updated list includes 29 entities, with companies based in China, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
For its part, China had previously denied any involvement in smuggling drones to forces in Sanaa.
