The Sultanate of Oman, through its Grand Mufti, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Khalili, has called on all Muslims to support and aid Yemen following the Israeli aggression on the city of Hodeidah.

In response to the Israeli airstrikes on Hodeidah, Sheikh Al-Khalili stated in a statement on Saturday evening: “We were surprised by the brutal Zionist aggression against our brotherly Yemen due to its stance in supporting the right in the occupied land.”

The Grand Mufti of Oman added in his statement that “all Muslims must support their Yemeni brothers and aid them, as this aggression is an attack on everyone.”

Earlier, Al-Masirah TV, affiliated with the Houthi movement “Ansar Allah,” reported that “the Israeli airstrikes on the city of Hodeidah targeted oil storage facilities at the port, the electricity station of Hodeidah province, and diesel storage tanks.” The Ministry of Health in the Sanaa government confirmed the occurrence of “martyrs and injured citizens as a result of the Israeli enemy’s airstrikes on oil storage facilities at the port of Hodeidah,” noting that several citizens suffered “severe burns.”

The United States quickly announced its non-participation in the airstrikes on Hodeidah. According to Qatar’s Al Jazeera, the New York Times quoted American officials stating that the United States did not militarily participate in the Israeli strike on Yemen.

The Sanaa government forces issued a statement vowing to strike vital Israeli targets in response to the airstrikes on civilian facilities in Hodeidah and reaffirmed the continued consideration of the “Yaffa area as unsafe.”

In a statement by the spokesperson for Sanaa forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, he said: “The Israeli enemy launched a brutal aggression on Hodeidah province, targeting the power station that supplies electricity to the coastal city of Hodeidah and also targeting the port of Hodeidah and fuel tanks, all of which are civilian targets.”

He added, “The Yemeni armed forces confirm that they will respond to this blatant aggression and, with God’s help, will not hesitate to strike the Israeli enemy’s vital targets, reiterating what was stated in their previous declaration about considering the occupied Yaffa area unsafe.”

He continued, “The Yemeni armed forces, under the guidance of their faithful leadership and with the support of all free and steadfast Yemeni people, will not cease their supportive operations for our brothers in Gaza, regardless of the consequences or outcomes. With God’s help, they are preparing for a long war against this enemy until the aggression stops, the blockade is lifted, and all crimes against the Palestinian people in Gaza cease,” the statement said.

The statement further noted, “The Israeli aggression on Yemen requires all members of the nation to move seriously in support of the Palestinian cause, reject Israeli aggression, and stand for the blood of the oppressed in Gaza.”

It concluded, “The great Yemeni people, with their leadership and armed forces, will overcome this challenge with God’s help, as they have overcome past challenges over the years.”
