Pakistan Erupts and Warns Arab States

NYN | News

On Saturday, Pakistan witnessed massive popular demonstrations demanding the government take immediate military action alongside the Islamic Republic of Iran in response to the recent Israeli aggression on Tehran.

Protesters chanted slogans against the Israeli entity, accusing Tel Aviv of involvement in India’s recent attack on Pakistan by supplying New Delhi with drones and advanced missiles. They emphasized that “standing with Iran today is a defense of Pakistan’s security and future.”

Politically, the public stance aligned with significant official moves. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a phone call with Iran’s newly elected president, Masoud Pezeshkian, during which he expressed Pakistan’s full solidarity with the Iranian people and government. He described the Israeli strikes as “unjustified aggression and a blatant violation of the sovereignty of a UN member state.”

Sharif affirmed Iran’s full right to defend itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter and stressed the need for international action to deter Israeli occupation and prevent further escalation of the war.

In a firm parliamentary stance, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif declared during a National Assembly session that Pakistan stands with Iran by all possible means, describing the recent Israeli attacks as a serious threat to regional and Islamic security.

Asif stated: “Iran is our neighbor, and its fate is tied to ours. What it is facing today in terms of aggression will befall everyone if we remain silent.” He added that the Israeli entity is not only striking Iran but also continues its aggression against Yemen and Palestine.

The minister called for “Arab and Islamic unity” in the face of ongoing aggression, asserting that the decisive moment is near and that the people will no longer accept ambiguous positions.
