Protests in Aden and Hadramout in Solidarity with Gaza… Attempts to Suppress Demonstrators

NYN | News

Hundreds of citizens and students took to the streets in the governorates of Aden and Hadramout on Monday in large demonstrations in support of the Palestinian cause and in condemnation of the massacres committed by the Israeli occupation against civilians in the Gaza Strip.

In the Crater District of Aden, a popular march took place this evening with dozens of participants raising Palestinian flags and chanting angry slogans denouncing the ongoing Israeli aggression.

Protesters demanded an immediate halt to the crimes against the people of Gaza, expressed their outrage at the official Arab stance, and called for both public and official action in support of Palestine.

According to media outlets close to the internationally recognized government, forces from the Security Belt affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council were deployed at the protest site and attempted to prevent the demonstrators from continuing.

In Hadramout, university students organized protest sit-ins in front of their colleges on Monday morning, coinciding with the global strike campaign in support of Palestine.

The Hadramout University Student Union stated on Facebook that the sit-ins witnessed wide participation from professors, staff members, and citizens, all expressing their solidarity with the people of Gaza and rejecting the crimes committed against them.

Participants chanted slogans celebrating the steadfastness of the Palestinian resistance and called on free people around the world to show solidarity and to stop the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and Rafah.
