Regional Radar Network Protects “Israel”: Hebrew Report Reveals Dangerous Gap After Iranian Strikes

Haaretz: Destruction of radars in the Gulf and Jordan reduced early-warning time and disrupted the entity’s multilayered air defense system

A Hebrew-language report has revealed that the advanced radar network deployed across several Gulf countries and Jordan forms the first line of defense in the early-warning system relied upon by Israel. The report noted that recent Iranian strikes on some of these radars exposed a serious vulnerability in the structure of the entity’s air defense system.

The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz said that Iran targeted several large radar installations across the region during the recent confrontation. These installations serve as the “advanced eyes” of Israel’s multilayered air-defense systems.

A Regional Early-Warning Network

The report explained that Israel’s air-defense system does not rely solely on radars located within its own territory. Instead, it is supported by a broad regional network of surveillance and early-warning systems spread across the Middle East, including American radars and others located in allied countries.

These distant radar systems provide the Israel Defense Forces with additional time to detect ballistic missiles immediately after launch from long distances, allowing interception systems to be activated before the missiles reach their targets.

Radar Strikes Reduce Warning Time

According to the report, Iran’s targeting of several of these radars in the Persian Gulf and Jordan reduced the early-warning time available to Israel, which directly affected the efficiency of its air-defense systems.

It added that the disruption of some advanced observation points created a noticeable malfunction in the early-warning system, exposing a dangerous gap that could affect the effectiveness of the entity’s different layers of air defense.

Contradiction With Gulf States’ Positions

The report noted that this reality highlights the role played by regional military infrastructure within the early-warning network relied upon by Israel, despite repeated assertions by some Gulf states that their territories are not used in any military operations directed against Iran.

It also emphasized that the surveillance and early-warning systems deployed across the region form an essential part of the defensive infrastructure relied upon by both Israel and the United States to confront missile attacks in the Middle East.
