The Government of Change and Development strongly condemned the Israeli aggression on the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, confirming that the airstrikes targeted several homes, residential neighborhoods, and vital facilities.
It stressed that the crimes of the Israeli entity would neither deter the Yemeni people nor break their will, but rather strengthen their resilience in confronting Israeli brutality and continuing their support for Gaza. The government also called on Arab and Islamic countries to take concrete action against Israel’s ongoing arrogance and aggression against the nation.
Meanwhile, the Security and Intelligence Agency in Sana’a revealed Thursday evening that the airstrikes targeted its own security facilities, including a correctional facility and another prison. The agency indicated that the attack was an attempt to enable the escape of certain prisoners, but the situation was swiftly contained, and the plan was completely foiled.
The agency’s statement explained that the strikes were part of a criminal Israeli plot aimed at creating chaos and a security breakdown, seeking to exploit imprisoned cells previously involved in assassinations, bombings, and site identification—especially during the period of American, British, and Israeli aggression.
For its part, the Ministry of Health and Environment in Sana’a announced that the death toll from the airstrikes had risen to 150 civilians, including 8 martyrs and 142 injured. It confirmed that Civil Defense and emergency teams are still searching for missing persons under the rubble.
The ministry noted that the aggression caused damage to several homes in the Madrasah neighborhood of Old Sana’a, emphasizing that the targeting of civilian and public service infrastructure constitutes a war crime in every sense of the word. It also condemned the silence and inaction of the Arab and Islamic communities in the face of the starvation and genocide being inflicted on Gaza.
The Ministry of Electricity also condemned the continued Israeli targeting of its civilian infrastructure. It reported that the strike on the Dhahban power station and renewable energy facilities resulted in one martyr and four injuries, holding the Israeli entity fully responsible for the deliberate targeting of Yemen’s infrastructure.
In the context of residential areas, local sources reported that the Israeli airstrikes hit Bakiriyyah Mosque neighborhood, Al-Ruqas neighborhood in Ma’een District, Haddah neighborhood, Al-Nahdayn area, and Madrasah neighborhood in Old Sana’a. The attacks caused extensive damage to homes and public facilities, left casualties, and sparked widespread public outrage across the capital.
